Orange Beach Performing Arts Center welcomes theatre goers Sept. 18

Orange Beach Performing Arts Center will welcome theatre goers for the first time Sept. 18 as student actors take the stage for their production of Disney’s Frozen, Jr.

The $11 million facility was built thanks to a partnership between the city of Orange Beach and Baldwin County Schools. The facility includes a main stage auditorium with an orchestra pit, a 700-seat black box  and classrooms.

The Orange Beach Conservatory of Fine Arts has 122 students taking theatre classes in grades seven through 12 in Acting, Theatre Tech and Musical Theatre. The Frozen Jr. production includes 44 actors and 12 tech students but each of the students in the program play a role from building and painting sets to lighting.

The Orange Beach Conservatory of Fine Arts production of Disney’s Frozen, Jr. takes the stage Saturday, Sept. 18 and Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Sept 19 and Sept. 26 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for senior citizens and students and are available for purchase by visiting gofan.co.
