Already an all-state football player as a senior, Roshad Harris from Snook Christian Academy turned in a similarly impressive basketball season and was recently named to the Alabama Independent School Association’s All-Star Game.

Harris becomes the Eagles’ first basketball all-star in school history and will represent Snook Christian at the contest set for Tuesday, Feb. 13, in Montgomery.

In 25 games played according to MaxPreps stats, Harris logged 25.4 points per game to go along with 7.2 rebounds per game for the Eagles. Entering play on Monday, Harris’ 180 made free throws ranked No. 9 in the nation.

Statewide, his point-per-game average ranked fifth, his 5.2 assists per game were seventh, his 4.1 steals per game ranked No. 8 and his 50 three-pointers made were No. 17.

With a triple-double that featured 23 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists in Snook’s 67-40, playoff-opening win over Meadowview Christian on Tuesday, it marked a ninth straight game where Harris recorded at least a third of his team’s points.

The Eagles found the end of the road with a 57-51 loss to Trinity Christian on Saturday in the Elite 8 of AISA’s Class A state bracket. Trinity advanced to host Escambia Academy on Thursday, Feb. 8, with the state finals scheduled for the following day.

Harris wasn’t the only one who poured in points for the Snook Christian Eagles, as sophomore Josh Gabel logged double digits eight times, three of which went for more than 20 points.

Gabel finished with 9.2 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game over 25 contests. Fellow sophomore Micah Brunson logged 7.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game over 24 contests where he recorded six double-digit games.
