District officials have released more information about a threatening call that put Robertsdale High School on lockdown last week.
Police responded Aug. 23 to reports of a possible threat of violence at Robertsdale High School.

"Our leadership team, along with our SRO, immediately jumped into action and within minutes, Robertsdale Police responded," Principal William White wrote in an email to parents. "We put the school in lockdown for a short period."

White said that during that time, no one was allowed in or out of the building until the police gave the school the all clear, including parents who may want to check their students out of school. A later email sent to parents from White said the school received a threatening call.

"A call came into the school ... of a threatening nature and as always, we must take any threat seriously. Robertsdale Police along with the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office started investigating and found the threat to be unsubstantiated. The investigation into the call will continue," White said.

White also said that out of caution, a decision was made to maintain police presence throughout the school day on Aug. 24.

"To answer several emails and questions that I've gotten, yes, there will be serious disciplinary action on any student who is found to have made a threat or participated in the spreading of rumors on social media or elsewhere and which causes disruption to our school day," White said.

White thanked the Robertsdale Police Department and the community for providing support throughout the incident.

"First, we want to say thank you to our law enforcement partners. Their reaction was swift, and we had more support than we could ever ask for.

Thank you to the Robertsdale Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office for always ensuring our campuses and our students are safe," White said.
