City, students work, walk together in Fairhope

The Fairhope Walking School Bus took to social media to give a "big shout out of thanks to the City of Fairhope for this quick response to several sidewalk issues."

About 140 people, comprising students and parents, use local sidewalks five mornings a week to get to and from school on foot.

"This speedy response is much appreciated. It's obvious that care has been taken to insure (sic) the heath of tbe (sic) tree as new sidewalk is being installed," the post wrote.

Cones have been arranged to provide a safe lane for WSB participants as repairs are bring made. The construction crew waited until the WSB passed to begin repairs.

"And on another note, we had excellent support from the Fairhope Police Department as we began the new school year. I love the City of Fairhope. They are a great partner to the Baldwin County Trailblazers WSB program at Fairhope West Elementary School," the post wrote.
