Happy February everyone!

This month is kicking off with a full slate of events and Mardi Gras parades to keep you busy all weekend long. Our pick of the top five events happening this weekend range from the Battlefield Blitz 5K to the Senior Bowl and everything in between.

Battlefield Blitz 5K

  • What: Blakeley State Park's annual Battlefield Blitz 5K and Fun Run, a fundraiser benefiting park programming and special projects, takes to the trails this Saturday. The race takes place on the grounds of Alabama's largest Civil War battlefield. Registration is open through Feb. 2 online and the day of registration closes at 7:45 a.m.
  • When: Saturday, Feb. 3, 8 a.m.
  • Where: Historic Blakeley State Park, 34745 Highway 225, Spanish Fort
  • Price: Adults $20 and $15 for youth

Fort Morgan Annual Tour of Homes

  • What: Take a peek inside some of the grand beach homes that make Fort Morgan special. The event is an annual fundraiser for the Fort Morgan Volunteer Fire Department's Ladies Auxiliary.
  • When: Saturday, Feb. 3, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Where: Various locations
  • Price: Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at Eventbrite.com

Senior Bowl 2024

  • What: The Senior Bowl brings the top college football players to Mobile to not only play a game, but this is the first step in the NFL Draft process. This is your chance to see the top players before they take the next step. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.seniorbowl.com.
  • When: Saturday, Feb. 3, noon
  • Where: Hancock Whitney Stadium, 500 Stadium Drive, Mobile
  • Price: Prices vary

Senior Bowl Concert: Counting Crows

  • What: Wrap up Senior Bowl with a free concert featuring Counting Crows. The parade begins after the conclusion of the Mardi Gras parade.
  • When: Saturday, Feb. 3, 7 p.m.
  • Where: Mardi Gras Park, 114 S. Royal St., Mobile
  • Price: Free to attend

Malbis Winter Market

  • What: Shop over 50 local vendors at the first Malbis Market of the year. Held at the Historic Malbis Nursery, the Malbis Market is a fun and free event highlighting local vendors and food trucks.
  • When: Sunday, Feb. 4, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Where: Historic Malbis Market, 10145 U.S. Highway 90, Daphne
  • Price: Free to attend
