Happy July heat-wave, folks.

The heat is not giving us a break this summer, but this list of weekend events should help you have fun. Our list of events ranges from live music and fundraisers to grappling and "Toy Story." We have quit the mix.

Music at Meyer Park

  • What: Spend an evening enjoying Molly Thomas & The Rare Birds in beautiful Meyer Park. The free concert is part of the 2023 Summer Music at Meyer Park concert series. Bring chairs and blankets and a picnic or purchase dinner from the food truck and beverages from the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber. The event is rain or shine. In case of rain the concert will take place at Big Beach Breweing.
  • When: Thursday, July 20, from 6 to 8 p.m.
  • Where: Meyer Park, 400 E. 22nd Ave., Gulf Shores

NAGA 2023 U.S. National Grappling Championship

  • What: The North American Grappling Association is hosting its national championship in Foley. The tournament is a no-Gi and Gi Brazilian Jui-Jitsu grappling tournament with divisions for all skill levels and ages. Expert division winners will be awarded championship belts and non-expert children and teen division winners will be awarded samurai swords. Spectators are welcome. To register as a participant, visit www.nagafighter.com.
  • When: Saturday, July 22, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Where: Foley Event Center, 1001 E. Pride Blvd., Foley
  • Price: Tickets at the door are $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under

Pirates Cove Autism FUNraiser

  • What: The 17th-annual Autism FUNraiser at Pirates Cove benefits High Hopes 4 Autism, an early intervention program in Elberta. The two-day event offers live music, an art market and fun.
  • When: Saturday, July 22, and Sunday, July 23, starting at 10 a.m.
  • Where: Pirates Cove, 6664 County Road 95, Elberta

Eagles and Creedence Clearwater Revival Tribute concert

  • What: Eagles tribute band Eagle Sunrise and Creedence Clearwater Revival tribute band Clearwater Rising will rock the Daphne Civic Center this weekend. Food, drinks, beer and wine will be available at the venue. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.beachlifeevents.com.
  • When: Saturday, July 22, doors open at 5 p.m. and the show begins at 6 p.m.
  • Where: Daphne Civic Center, 2603 U.S. 98, Daphne
  • Price: Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door

"Toy Story" at the Saegner

  • What: Classic movies are fun to watch at home, but seeing them on the big screen is an experience. Bring the whole family to the Saenger Theatre and see "Toy Story" take the big screen. The charity supported by the Summer Classic Movie Series is the United Cerebral Palsy of Mobile. Bring a donation of household cleaning products, paper towels, baby wipes or gallon zip top bags.
  • When: Sunday, July 23, at 3 p.m.
  • Where: Saenger Theatre, 6 S. Joachim St., Mobile
  • Price: Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children ages under 12.
