November is just around the corner, and that means the holidays are quickly approaching.

If you are trying to decide how to spend your final October weekend, we have put together a diverse list for this weekend. This weekend brings everything from Halloween events to a harp concert and everything in between. Learn about monarch butterflies in Fairhope, watch a movie in Meyer Park, enjoy a German sausage or trick or treat at the zoo just to name a few.

Hometown Halloween

  • What: Join in the fun in downtown Foley as local merchants provide a fun, safe and family-friendly Halloween celebration. Take part in the costume contest, game booths and tricks and treats for children of all ages.
  • When: Thursday, Oct. 26, 5:30-8 p.m.
  • Where: Downtown Foley, 200 N. Alston St., Foley
  • Price: Free to attend

Monarch Butterfly Workshop

  • What: Learn the science behind migration, breeding and diseases that affect the monarch butterfly. To register, call (251) 937-7176.
  • When: Friday, Oct. 27, 1 p.m.
  • Where: Gulf Coast Research & Extension Center, 8300 Hwy. 104, Fairhope
  • Price: Free

Movies at Meyer Park

  • What: Pack up the lawn chairs and cozy blankets and enjoy an evening under the stars watching the movie "School of Rock." Food trucks will be present, and the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber will be selling soft drinks and beer.
  • When: Thursday, Oct. 26, 6 p.m.
  • Where: Meyer Park, 400 E. 22nd Ave., Gulf Shores

Karen's Coming Out Fighting

  • What: Lace up your sneakers and join Karen's Coming Out Fighting Breast Cancer Awareness Walk and show your support for those fighting against breast cancer. The morning will include a guest speaker, a walk, refreshments, a pink pumpkin contest and fellowship. Tickets are available for purchase on Eventbrite.com.
  • When: Saturday, Oct. 28, 7-10 a.m.

Elberta German Sausage Festival

  • What: The wait is over. The bi-annual German Sausage Festival will fill the air in and around Elberta will the smell of fire-kissed sausages. The festival includes music, vendors and fun for the whole family. Get there early because they will sell out of sausage.
  • When: Saturday, Oct. 28, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Where: Elberta Town Park, 13052 Main St., Elberta

Annual Cooper Farm Tree or Treat

  • What: Cooper Farm is hosting a fun Halloween event for a great cause. Bring the family to enjoy a bounce house, holiday craft tables and tree or treat stations. The event is free, but donations will be accepted for the building of a pay-what-you-can produce stand for the nonprofit Coopers Table.
  • When: Saturday, Oct. 28, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Where: Cooper Farm, 14609 Highway 59, Foley
  • Price: Free to attend

Boo at the Zoo

  • What: Celebrate Halloween with the party animals at the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo. Bring the family for scare-free Halloween fun with trick or treating, activities and animal ambassador meet and greets.
  • When: Saturday, Oct. 28, 9 a.m. to noon
  • Where: Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo, 20499 Oak Road East, Gulf Shores
  • Price: Boo at the Zoo is included with regular admission which ranges from $22.95 to $14.95

Harmonies of the Wild: A nature-inspired harp concert

  • What: The Central Gulf Coast Harp Society will host its annual Harpfest Sunday. The free concert's music selection was inspired by the effects of climate change on nature. Four harps will bring many colors of sound to life on the strings of the harps.
  • When: Sunday, Oct. 29, at 3 p.m.
