ORANGE BEACH, Ala. — The Northwestern Ohio Racers won the 2016 NAIA Women’s Soccer National Championship with a 1-0 win over defending national champion Spring Arbor (Mich.) Saturday evening at the Orange Beach Sportsplex.

In a defensive battle that featured only four shots on frame all game, Hannah Baines had the decisive tally when she finished far post off of Julie Cazanave’s corner kick across the front of the goal.

It was the 20th shutout of the season for the Racers and 13th in their last 14 games.
