Baldwin County Schools prepare for severe weather with noon dismissal

Posted

In coordination with partners at Baldwin County Emergency Management Agency and the Mobile National Weather Service Office, Baldwin County Public Schools Superintendent Eddie Tyler announced early dismissal for schools tomorrow due to potential severe weather conditions. The decision comes after continuous evaluation of the forecast throughout the day.

"We have made the decision to have an early dismissal tomorrow, April 10th, due to the possibility of severe weather," the announcement said. "School will dismiss at noon, with buses rolling at noon as well."

According to the announcement, schools will dismiss at noon, with buses also departing at that time. Anticipating severe weather after 2 p.m. and lasting into the evening, the early dismissal aims to ensure the safe return of students and staff before the onset of potentially hazardous conditions.

Furthermore, all after-school activities, including practices, games, field trips and After School Child Care, stand canceled. However, lunch services will remain available for those in need. Additionally, ACAP testing, originally scheduled for tomorrow, will be rescheduled.

"We again thank you for your patience and understanding," Tyler said in the announcement. "I pray that tomorrow isn’t as bad as forecasted and that we all make it through safely."
