Posted

Baptist Weight-Loss Center has achieved national accreditation as a Comprehensive Center by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP®), a collaborative Quality Program of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery for the second time.

In meeting the essential criteria for staffing, training, facility infrastructure, and patient care pathways, Baptist Weight-Loss Center secured MBSAQIP accreditation, showcasing its capability to support patients dealing with obesity. The center actively engages in a national data registry, reporting on the quality of its surgical outcomes and identifying avenues for improvement. Adhering to MBSAQIP standards, the center ensures that metabolic and bariatric patients benefit from multidisciplinary medical care, fostering improved outcomes and long-term success.

Committed to providing quality care, Baptist Weight-Loss Center undertakes continuous reviews of surgical data, enhancing structural and outcomes expertise for the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality care to all metabolic and bariatric patients.

"The MBSAQIP accreditation exemplifies our team's continuous commitment to providing each patient with individualized weight-loss plans to help them reach their goals," said Amanda Davis, Clinical Practice Manager at Baptist Weight-Loss Center.

The American College of Surgeons (ACS), founded in 1913, is a scientific and educational organization dedicated to elevating the standards of surgical education and practice. With over 82,000 members, ACS is the largest organization of surgeons globally, advocating for improved surgical patient care.

The American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), boasting over 4,200 members, is the world's largest organization for metabolic and bariatric surgeons. As a not-for-profit organization, ASMBS works to advance the science of metabolic and bariatric surgery, educating medical professionals and the public about associated risks and benefits as a treatment option for obesity.
