BAY MINETTE, Alabama -- The Baldwin County High School Tiger Band closed out its season with a special banquet at Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department. The banquet serves as a time to recognize current and future students in leadership positions, and to present awards and scholarships.
Band Officers for 2017-2018 include:
Drum Major - Destiny Mikel
Woodwind Captains - Jacob Burt and Courtney Stewart
Brass Captains - Brianna Coffman and Preston Richards...
Percussion Captains - Holly Bates and Ethan Pettis
Band President - Destiny Miskel
Vice President - Courtney Stewart
Band awards presented include:
Best Attitude - Loren Robinson
Most Improved - Austin Hutchinson
Most Outstanding Percussion - Will Steward
Most Outstanding Brass - Destiny Miskel
Most Outstanding Woodwind - Courtney Stewart
Joe Riemer Scholarship - Evan White
Wesley Rabren Horizon Award - Sarah Haskew
John Phillip Sousa Award - Loren Robinson
The Tigerettes & Tiger Guard also participated in the banquet and special award recipients included Eve Powell,
Tigerette Rookie of the Year; Patience Newsome,
Most Outstanding Tigerette; Charkayla Riley,
Tiger Guard Rookie of the Year; and Bethany Driggers,
Most Outstanding Tiger Guard.
Additional Tigerette awards went to Abby Stewart,
Best Kick Technique; Ansley Smith,
Driven Dancer; C.C. Long,
Poised Performer; Mary Stuart Lewis,
Outstanding Performer; and Amanda Eversman for
Superior Showmanship.
Tiger Guard awards went to Onterya Robinson,
Outstanding Rifle Showmanship; Outstanding Flag Showmanship, Rosa Harris;
Outstanding Sabre Showmanship, Madison McMillan; and
Overall Top Performer, McKenzie Moody.
New Officers for the 2017-2018 season will be Tigerette Captain, Patience Newsome; Tigerette Co-Captains, Anna Beth Denson and Amanda Eversman; Tiger Guard Captain, Bethany Driggers; Tiger Guard Co-Captain, Hadley Williams; and Tiger Guard Lieutenant, Onterya Robinson.
