Fundraiser to support Fairhope library

Posted

The Friends of the Fairhope Library are sponsoring an eight-week campaign to raise $5,000 by the end of April.

The money will be donated to the library's capital campaign, "Building for the Future," which will complete the renovations being done to the building's upper floor.

Currently, officials have $731,685.38, organizers said, and need $1,010,000 before the renovation can begin.

The upstairs renovation project will create four new spaces including a spacious, bright, and inviting space for the teens of our community, a well-stocked, exciting Makerspace for all ages, a room for Technical Services and Testing, and a new space for the Friends of the Fairhope Library who work with book donations.

Organizers invite the community to "accept the challenge and support the library."

The drive will end on Saturday, April 29, the last day of National Library Week.

Checks may be made to: Fairhope Library Capital Campaign and dropped off at the library and given to anyone on duty at the circulation desk or mailed to Friends of the Fairhope Library, P.O. Box 633, Fairhope 36533.

For questions about the campaign contact Library Director, Tamara Dean at (251) 929-0366.
