Sit back and enjoy musical therapy for your soul as the Group Therapy Trio brings their modern nostalgic sound to Big Beach Brewing July 30, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Group Therapy Trio's members, Lisa Christian, Kay Sorrells and June Hurston, each professionally trained singers, bring years of experience to the table. Their three-part harmony and organic sound bring new life to memorable tunes.

Lisa Christian has been performing since high school and honed her sound in Nashville. She later moved to Atlanta where she joined Lisa Durand to form Christian/Durand. The group performed at the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics and 1998 Lilith Fair. She also opened for Bonnie Raitt and Marty Stuart.

Kay Sorrells began singing solos in church and piano training at an early age in Phenix City. Following professional coaching from Auburn University, she spent two years as a vocalist for the Auburn Knights Orchestra. Her musical passion led her to Atlanta and Nashville where she took lead and backup roles for several bands. She has spent a decade providing backup vocals for Elvis tribute artist Shane Tucker and leading the Promised Land Band.

June Hurston found her passion in music and harmonies at the age of six performing gospel with her sisters. The trio won talent shows and performed in churches across the Mid-South. After moving to Gulf Shores in 2011, Hurston met Sorrells during a local worship service. She also became a backup singer for Elvis tribute artist, Shane Tucker.

Christian will perform original music at 4 p.m., and Group Therapy Trio performs at 5:30 p.m. Big Beach Brewing is at 300 E. 24th Ave., Gulf Shores.
