HGTV returns to Gulf Shores for “Battle on the Beach” series

Gulf Shores has taken center stage on an HGTV show yet again.

The competition series “Battle on The Beach” returned to the Gulf Shores area to film the third season of the popular show. Season one was also filmed in Gulf Shores while season two featured Surfside Beach, Texas.

“Battle On the Beach” teams up HGTV veterans Taniya Nayak from “Build it Forward,” Ty Pennington of “Rock the Block” and Alison Victoria of “Windy City Rehab" with up-and-coming home renovators. The teams renovate beach houses to see who can increase their home’s value the most in six weeks with a $90,000 budget.

In past seasons, each team was assigned to an identical house, but this year one home is 200 square feet larger. All the properties have two bedrooms and bathrooms. Locals may recall that season one of the show was filmed in the Fort Morgan area, and the houses are now vacation rentals.

Watch Ryan and Kelsey Mansingh of Uniontown, Ohio; Ashley Basnight and Steve Lewis of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Ben Argall and Pete Meldrum of the Upper Peninsula, Michigan, battle it out on HGTV.
