Kenny Chesney's No Shoes Radio hosts live broadcast, beach party at Coastal in Orange Beach

Kenny Chesney's No Shoes Radio surprised island residents on Tuesday with a pop-up live radio show broadcast and beach party at Coastal Orange Beach.

While the radio show has previously hosted similar live shows, titled "Live from Blue Chair Bay," this was their first time anchoring down at Coastal, a relatively new waterfront restaurant.

Radio hosts Kizzi Barazetti and Tommy Massad joined Coastal customers on Nov. 7 to celebrate Chesney's 2024 tour announcement with giveaways and a signed guitar from the country music star.

"Kenny Chesney was announcing his new tour and giving away tickets live from Coastal," said Jenifer Parnell, marketing and public relations director for Flora-Bama and Coastal. "Kenny was not there, but we gave away tickets every hour to the people at Coastal and let them pick which city they wanted to go to. We also gave away lots of Coastal swag and a signed Kenny Chesney guitar."

Parnell said the idea came about through Coastal and Flora-Bama's partnership with the radio station, as Chesney has previously surprised audience members at Flora-Bama, which shares owners with Coastal.
"We've been working on this for a few months, through our partnership and friends at No Shoes Radio," Parnell said. "They've all been here before and love this area They had an absolute blast."

Purnell also said that due to the large turnout and camaraderie among customers, she hopes to coordinate similar events in the future.

"It was a fantastic day. We could not have asked for a more beautiful day in November. It was packed. There were probably a couple hundred people there dancing in front of the stage," Purnell said. "The best part was everyone dancing and enjoying the beach life. It was No Shoes Nation at it's finest."
