Man succumbs to injuries following shooting incident in Loxley

In a turn of events following a recent shooting incident in Loxley last week, Stanley Koenig, Sr. passed away over the weekend due to injuries sustained during the altercation according to a news release from the Major Crimes Unit of Baldwin County.

The incident unfolded on the evening of Tuesday, Jan. 23, when officers from the Loxley Police Department and deputies from the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of gunfire at a residence situated in Loxley. Upon arrival, law enforcement quickly determined that an exchange of gunfire had taken place at the location, resulting in critical injuries to Koenig.

Koenig was transported to a local hospital, where he remained in critical condition until succumbing to his injuries during the weekend. To shed light on the circumstances surrounding his demise, an autopsy is scheduled to be conducted by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences.

The investigation remains active, with law enforcement diligently interviewing witnesses and processing evidence gathered from the scene. In an effort to maintain the integrity of the ongoing inquiry, specific details related to the case are being withheld from public disclosure.
