Orange Beach’s “Visions of Christmas” showcases musical magic for the holiday season

Holidays aren’t complete without traditions, and Orange Beach’s “Visions of Christmas” is a fun event to add to your family’s traditions.

This will be the production’s third year, and there are new additions to keep the show fresh.

“We are featuring a few new songs, a brand-new elf and a theme about remembering the ones we’ve lost during the holiday season,” said Jessica Langston, Orange Beach creative director. “We like to create a mixture of old favorites, new and exciting moments, as well as unexpected genres. There truly is something for everyone in this variety show.”

For those who have never attended the show, you can expect lights, funny moments, atmosphere videos, upbeat songs and intimate moments. The star of the show is an amazing cast of performers who bring amazing vocals, incredible instrumentalists, excitement and pure Christmas joy.

Expect Excellence Music Director Caleb Pittman is the mastermind behind the show. The “Visions of Christmas” framework stems from the University of Mobile’s annual “Christmas Spectacular.” Pittman and much of the Expect Excellence music staff are alumni of the university and the show.

The show will be held at the Orange Beach Performing Arts Center to help kick off the holiday season Nov. 30 – Dec. 2. All three dates will have a 7 p.m. showtime, and there will be a 2 p.m. matinee Dec. 2.

The free show has become a holiday tradition and has grown each year.

“We want residents, families and guests to look forward to the show all year-round,” Langston said. “We definitely hope it becomes a holiday tradition – and we’re all on our way. We’ve had full audiences the past two years, and we’ve added a show each year to keep up with demand. We’re up to four performances this year, and we hope to bring the magic of Christmas to audiences for many years to come.”

Based on prior responses to this event, reservations are required to ensure available seating. Tickets are currently available at www.orangebeachal.gov/performingarts. The Performing Art Center box office can be reached at (251) 923-0043. The box office hours are from 3:30-6 p.m. on weekdays.
