FAIRHOPE—The Fairhope High School Pirates finished their season with a 24-14 win against the Briarwood Christian Lions.

The game kicked off with a Pirate field-goal from Campbell Mackeller, instantly putting the Pirates in the driver's seat. However, Briarwood Christian's Cooper Higgins executed a touchdown, shifting the momentum in their favor.
Fairhope High School quickly counterpunched when Preston Godfrey, who led the Pirates in touchdowns, returned a punt 98-yards for a touchdown, regaining their lead.
Before the halftime whistle, Luke Reynold of Briarwood Christian powered his way into the endzone, giving the Lions a 14-10 lead.
The Pirates demonstrated their relentless drive for victory and didn't delay in the third quarter as sophomore Fisher Southall blazed his way to a rushing touchdown. With both the home crowd and the team electrified at W.C. Majors Field, Patrick Harbin Jr. pounced on a Lions' fumble and swiftly navigated it into the endzone, securing yet another touchdown for the Pirates.
Fairhope head coach Tim Carter acknowledged the game-changing moment, stating, "That was a big turn in the game for us because it provided us with a two-score lead."
Other noteworthy plays included an interception by Dixon Davis and a fumble recovery by Luke Guinarin.
Senior night
Other than celebrating a win at W.C. Majors field, Fairhope High School celebrated the class of 2024.
Carter reflected on those players who have contributed to the team.
“They brought in a region championship for their career,” he said. “There is a lot of positives in our program, but we are just glad to end with a victory.”
Ending the season
With a 24-14 win against the Briarwood Christian Lions, Fairhope High School add another win to their record, making them 3-7 overall and 1-5 in the region for the season. The Pirates finished 6th in 7A Region 1.
