ROBERTSDALE, Alabama— The Robertsdale Rotary Club recently donated benches as part of a matching grant through Rotary International. The benches were purchased through a raffle through the Rotary Club which raised $2,500, matched by a $3,000 grant from Rotary International.

A total of five benches were donated in the city of Robertsdale, two at the Robertsdale Baseball Complex at Garrett Park, one at the Baldwin County Central Annex, one in the Greer’s Shopping Center and one at Catholic Social Services.

“After contacting BRATS (Baldwin Regional Area Transportation Service) earlier in year we discovered there was a need for people who had to wait on the buses for their transportation and these were some of places that they stopped on a regular basis (except for the ballpark),” said 2019-20 Rotary Club President Cheryl Russell. “The grant project was also part of our Rotary Branding which we are working on to make the public more of what Rotary is about and how all the money we collect during the year through grants, fundraisers and donation go back out into the community.”
