Guess what time it is! The time, twice a year, when the small town of Elberta fills with the smell of fire-kissed, locally made sausage all for a good cause. The spring Elberta German Sausage Festival is March 30.

The Elberta German Sausage Festival, a town fundraiser hosted by the Elberta Volunteer Fire Department, started in 1978. The festival is now a biannual event held on the last Saturday of March and October.

The headliner of the event, German sausage, is made locally each year from a secret recipe originally credited to Alfred Stucki. Nearly 6,000 pounds of German sausage is sold at each event to an estimated 15,000 visitors.

Festival goers will find over 200 arts and crafts vendors, live music and entertainment for the whole family. Other delicious food is available from various vendors and often includes German-style filled cabbage, goulash, hot dogs, hamburgers and more.
