SILVERHILL, Alabama — The Silverhill Veterans Memorial Organization will hold a Remembrance Service on Saturday, Sept. 11 at 10 a.m. at the Silverhill Veterans Memorial, 15965 Silverhill Ave.

The Remembrance Service will honor and remember those who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001, marking the 20-year anniversary, and honor and remember all the military personnel who lost their lives during the past 20 years and our 13 military personnel who died on Thursday, Aug. 26 from the suicide attack at Kabul, Afghanistan.

“This is something we’ve never done before,” said Frankie Kucera, Silverhill Veterans Organization president, “but considering it’s the anniversary and everything that’s going on right now, we thought it would be a good idea to honor those who lost their lives that day and since then, including the 13 military members who lost their lives on Aug. 26 in Afghanistan. We will never forget.”

This is a day to remember and prayer. The public is invited. Those attending are asked to bring a chair and masks are optional.
