After an extensive national search, Josh Snow, M.S.H.A., has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer for USA Health University Hospital, renowned as the region's exclusive level 1 trauma center and a nationally acclaimed burn center according to a news release.

Owen Bailey, M.S.H.A., USA Health Chief Executive Officer, and Senior Associate Vice President for Medical Affairs expressed confidence in Snow's appointment.

“Josh’s extensive experience leading hospital and medical group operations across the Southeast will support University Hospital’s efforts to provide world-class, compassionate care to people in our region,” Bailey said in the release. “We welcome him to USA Health.”

Before joining University Hospital, Snow served as the Market President for The Medical Centers of Southeast Texas in Beaumont, a division of Steward Health Care. In this role, he provided executive leadership for a healthcare network comprising two full-service hospital campuses with over 1,200 staff and 250 physician affiliates.

John V. Marymont, M.D., M.B.A., Vice President for Medical Affairs and Dean of the Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine at the University of South Alabama, commended Snow's background.

“Josh brings a strong track record of developing and launching healthcare s ervices, which aligns closely with the rapid growth of USA Health, the region’s only academic health system,” Marymont said.

Snow outlined his vision for University Hospital, emphasizing a commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centric and innovative healthcare.

“By further integrating the research and clinical education missions of USA Health into core hospital operations, I want the skill and scope of our care to be such that no one in the Gulf Coast region would need — or want — to leave the area to find solutions to their medical problems OR to solve their medical problems,” Snow said in the release.

Shannon Scaturro, M.S.H.A., M.S.N., CRNA, FACHE, Chief Operating Officer and Assistant Vice President for Medical Affairs, praised Snow's leadership qualities.

“We are excited to have Josh join the leadership team at University Hospital. Throughout his career, Josh has been a hands-on hospital leader for both day-to-day operations and strategic growth of key clinical programs,” Scaturro said. “He is metric-oriented, business savvy, has a track record of building strong working relationships with physicians, and has experience with graduate medical education. We look forward to the impact he will have in our community.”

Snow, a native of Mount Airy, North Carolina, holds a Bachelor of Science in healthcare administration from Appalachian State University and a Master of Science in healthcare administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. His career includes serving as the Chief Executive Officer for Davis Regional Medical Center in Statesville, North Carolina, along with various senior executive leadership positions with community health systems.
