SNOOK CHRISTIAN ACADEMY JOINS AISA

Eagles will compete in Class A; eligible for state-wide playoffs next fall

Summerdale, Ala. – Snook Christian Academy’s Head of School Thad V. Butts has announced that the Academy was approved on Feb. 21, to join Alabama Independent School Association (AISA). AISA serves independent schools in Alabama by providing its schools with educational and corporate services and programs focusing on excellence in academics, accreditation, and athletics.

Snook Christian Academy is classified as Class A, and the football team will play in AISA’s Region 1. Basketball, baseball, and softball teams will be in Region 2, and volleyball will be in Region 2, Area 2. The Snook cheerleading team will be assigned to Region 1 (East).

All athletic teams will be eligible to participate in the playoffs for a state championship next school year.

In addition to athletics, AISA provides opportunities for its member schools to participate in academic programs such as spelling bees, a science fair, reading, writing and math competitions, band and choral festivals, a drama festival, and a state student government association. Professional programs for teachers and administrators are also offered throughout the year.

“We are excited that our students will be given the opportunity to participate in academic and athletic events through the AISA. This move helps SCA provide more educational opportunities to enhance the overall quality Christian education that our school already offers students,” Butts stated.

Snook Christian Academy is a private Christian school located in Summerdale, AL., and serves students in Pre-Kindergarten through grade 12. The Academy is accredited by AdvancED and the National Christian Schools Association (NCSA). The Academy strives to provide a quality Christian education in a family atmosphere.
