Frances Adelle Trest Grubbs left this world on June 1, 2023, to be in a better place. She is survived by her husband, William Grubbs, and children Wade Grubbs, Laura, Grubbs Zgoda, and Eva Grubbs(deceased). Frances was born in Atmore, Alabama in 1937, the youngest of eight children. After the premature death of her mother, Frances moved to Loxley to be with her aunt, Inez Hiles, and uncle, Edward Hiles. She enjoyed both scholastic and social success in her new home and was awarded many accolades at her alma mater, Robertsdale High School. Her success extended to her college years at the University of Montevallo where she earned a degree in education.

While working as an insurance administrator during a summer college break, Frances met her future husband, Bill, and love ensued. They married after her graduation in 1960 and have had a long and happy marriage.

Frances taught English to many fortunate high school students for decades. She loved teaching and mentoring students of all levels. Her love of language continued to her hobby of writing poetry and short stories. Her creative abilities were also displayed in her sewing, quilting and needlework projects.

Frances was a beautiful person both inside and out. She shared beauty, kindness and warmth to all that were lucky enough to know her.

Frances, the world is a smaller place without you. We will be together one day. We all love you so much.
