Gene D. Shanks, age 64, a native of Brewton, Alabama and a resident of Robertsdale, Alabama, passed away Sunday, Nov. 17, 2019 surrounded with love and his family.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Clarence Wynton Shanks and Ruth Coleman DuHart; his brothers, Robert Ellis Shanks and Gary Wynton Shanks.
Gene's survivors include wife, Debi Shanks; sons, Tommy (Tiffany), Steve (Ashley) Shanks; daughter, Angi (Jeff) Veach. Also surviving are his sisters-in-law, Dianne Tremer and Lawrinda Shanks; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Gene loved to spend time outdoors with family and friends that are like family. He had a heart of giving and helping others in any way possible. Gene was the most "selfless" person and will be missed greatly FOREVER!
A celebration of Gene's life will be held Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019 at 1 p.m. at the Loxley United Methodist Church, Loxley, Alabama.
