Jerret Loran Holmes, a resident of Daphne, Alabama, passed away at his home Thursday, June 1, 2023, at the age of 36.
Jerret graduated in 2005 from Daphne High School. He attended Faulkner Community College and then went on to receive his bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Florida International University in Miami. He loved working outdoors with plants and was an avid horticulturist. He enjoyed learning history and science and was very knowledgeable in world religions. He worked at the Grand Hotel in various positions. Jerret was very outgoing, kind and friendly to all who met him; he was well loved and will be missed by all who knew him. Jerret was a bright and shining light to all who met him. He found the good in all people and always tried to make their day brighter and happier.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Jeral Holmes; his brother, Jace Morgan Holmes; grandparents, Mosey Leslie Sherum and Sadie Willoughby Sherum; Ethel Padgett Holmes and Robert Holmes.
Jerret is survived by his mother, Diane Sherum Holmes of Daphne; aunts, Melinda Sherum Scott (Terry) of Headland, Alabama and April Sherum Stewart (Scott) of Wadley, Alabama; cousins, Kaley Stewart Pugh (Brandon) of Eclectic, Alabama, Megan Stewart of Auburn, Alabama, Ashton Scott Glover (Chase) of Headland, Alabama, Addison Scott of Headland and Krislyn Stewart of Wadley, Alabama; cousins, Liam Nash Pugh, Addaleigh Grace Glover and Weston Chase Glover and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday, June 4, 2023, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope. Visitation began at 1:00 pm.
Interment followed funeral service at Jubilee Memorial Gardens.
