Roddie Knight, age 80, a resident of Silverhill, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, June 19, 2023.
He retired from Vulcan Inc. after 38 years, was an avid deer hunter and loved westerns books and movies.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Garvin and Frances Lucille Knight; daughter, Kimberly Knight; son, Michael Shane Knight; grandson, Joshua Curtis; and brother, Larry Knight.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Faye Knight of Silverhill; sons, Dale James of Robertsdale and Clayt James of Orange Beach; brother, Johnnie (Peggy) Knight of Jasper; grandchildren, Haley Casey and Shayna Knight; five great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Eugene Hale of Ashville; and many other loving relatives and friends.
A celebration of Roddie's life was held at 6 p.m., Monday, June 26, at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Foley. The family received friends one hour prior to the chapel service.
