William Albert "Buck" Newsome, age 89, of Robertsdale, Alabama and formerly from Selma, Alabama, passed away Jan. 4, 2018.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Newsome; and stepson, Ronnie Hopkins.
Surviving are his wife, Willodean Newsome of Robertsdale, Alabama; daughters, Janet Styrom (Mike) of Robertsdale, Alabama, Margie Whitton (Chuck) of Trussville, Alabama and Peggy Polley (Guy) of Melbourne, Florida; special daughter-in-law, Rita Hopkins of Selma, Alabama; five grandchildren, Ronnie Lipham, Paul Polley, Jamie Nichols, Roni Friday and Chuck Rowlett; six great-grandchildren, Jasmine Lipham, Michael Nichols, Clay Hopkins, Ashlynn Friday, Tucker Friday and Taylor Rowlett; sisters, Lula Helms (Ollie) and June Parsons; brother, Bud Newsome (Carol); numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends from Ocmulgee Baptist Church of Selma, Alabama.
Funeral services will be Monday, Jan. 8, 2018 at 12 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Robert Walker and Rev. Rod Rochester officiating.
Visitation will be prior to the service at 11 a.m.
Interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens, with Selma Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Tate Bowden, Justin Smith, Ronnie Lipham Jr. and Chris Friday.
